Today, many travel agents offer tour program crossing the rural area or mountainous ranges. One of them is the Waka Land Cruise offering the route passing through more than one village. The excursion is commenced at Tegal Jadi Village being famous for its traditional sandstone mining. Most of the local villagers have a livelihood in mining sandstone. They do this bread and butter everyday, by means of simple tools.

By and large, this sandstone is widely used in the making of temple buildings. In fact, this spectacle is interesting for tourists. Afterwards, at Malgunung Village, you can make a visit to Balinese traditional house compound aging approximately 50 years. Such a house is traditionally made from wet soil blended with hull of rice and bamboo. Here, you can have a closer look at an ancient style of kitchen that has not been modified. Or you can also observe tropical plantations consisting of clove, vanilla, tangerine, mango, snake fruit, mangos teen, cacao, coffee, durian and so forth. To quench the thirst, every tourist is given an opportunity to drink coffee or tea served with assorted Balinese cakes.

From this traditional house, the journey is resumed to Jatiluwih. There, participants are taken to walk around the stalks of paddy on the altitude of 900 meters above sea level. The climate is very cold. Similarly, this journey passes through a bamboo forest whose bamboo’s stalk is very big and bushes composed of assorted ever verdant ferns.

This area is considered to be sacred because it’s located around the slope of Mount Batukaru. Here you will enjoy the very cold stream of water and it can be drunk without being boiled in advance. After visiting this location, participants are taken to continue the journey to hot spring at Belulang Village. This hot spring is located around the paddy field. Many local villagers come to this hot spring to have a bath. It contains sulfur with temperature of some 30°C so that it can cure some skin diseases.
